Mother Love

Today I love being a mother.  I love being a mom every day, but today I actually felt the love all day long.  It was a gift.  And now they are all quiet and I can bask in the love for the rest of the night.  Maybe we're getting past the absolute craziness of having a new baby; maybe it was a fluke.  But I appreciate it.

I was able to go to music class with Ben this morning, we met Laura (my sister) and her boys at the zoo, we had nap time/quiet time, I helped Ben create an airplane costume out of cardboard, we played in the yard, we had leftovers for dinner, and we topped it off with James getting the big boys into pajamas while I nursed and cuddled with Aaron.

This afternoon I was cuddling with Ben & Sam (I told you it was the perfect day) and Ben said, "There are a lot of great moms out there, but none of them are better than you."  Because I am keenly aware of all of my faults as a mother, it means so much to me that my little boys can look past my weaknesses and think I'm the greatest mom there is.  And Aaron...all he has to do is look at me with the loving look of an infant and my heart just melts.

Today is a gift.  May I remember it tomorrow.

These pictures are not all from today, but they all make me happy:

Ben's airplane costume. I'm not sure what inspired this, but I helped him attach the straps. He was pleased.
Sam's "mohawk"

Sighs of happiness over here! What a beautiful post! I'm pretty sure Ben is spot on about you as a mama!

Hoping you get to enjoy many more days like this one!
