Home SWEET Home

We're home from Montana, and it is wonderful! We had a hard time getting home, due to snow and mountain pass closures. We were stuck in Spokane one night, and when the passes didn't open in the morning, we ended up going through Portland, Oregon to get home (a 4 1/2 hour trip turned into 9 1/2 hours). Luckily, Ben held up really well in the car and we actually really enjoyed seeing the Columbia Gorge. And we were so happy to finally get home!

Here are some more photos from our time in Dillon & Pocatello.

We had no bathtub in our house in Dillon, so we had to give Ben "sinkies" (as my mom calls them). After a couple of weeks, he decided he hated the sink, so we turned to taking showers with him. A bathtub is a luxury, as we learned.

Here is Ben at Maverick Mountain. James & I were able to go skiing, and Ben had fun playing in the snow. In this picture, he's looking beyond the camera at a dog who was running around. He's still completely obsessed with dogs.

James and Charlene (and Ben) played duets on the piano. Ron (the doctor James worked with) & Charlene (his wife) were really good to us while we were in Dillon. They have a beautiful piano and Ben was thrilled. Ben is also obsessed with the piano.

Ben liked to put on these gloves and then say "ha-fa" (high five). He seems to think you need a glove on to give a high five.

Ben loves this shirt of James'. He was so excited to actually get to wear it, after carrying it around for much of the day.

Ben & Grandma in Pocatello. Grandma wrapped him up in the blanket once to take him out to get the mail. Then a while later, Ben found the blanket and went to the door--a subtle hint to Grandma that he wanted to go back outside.

We went to Bannack, Montana (an old mining town that's now a state park). Ben loved swinging with Grandma & Grandpa.

This was our little house in Dillon, a converted carriage house.
Back at home! James is working like a dog right now at the Harborview ER, so much of his quality time with Ben is spent reading (he's too tired to really play). They're reading "Clifford" here, Ben's current favorite book.

Ben's little smile, adorable gap in the teeth, and gorgeous eyes are so fun to see in these pictures!!! Looks like you survived the Big Sky country!

It is good to have you back. Ben looks so different in a bath-- without all that beautiful hair!

I feel like I should clarify: Ben looks so different in a bath-- with his hair all wet down.
